2026 APC TOP CEO Business Summit (Chongqing, China)

On 23 September, the Asia Pacific TOP Excellence Brand Committee (APC) hosted the 2026 APC TOP CEO Business Summit (Chongqing, China). Under the theme “China–Cambodia Trade Cooperation: Expanding Overseas for Mutual Success,” the summit brought together entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in Cambodia and the wider ASEAN market, exchange business insights and build connections for cross-border cooperation.

As more companies look beyond their domestic markets for growth, ASEAN has become an important region for business expansion. Yet recognising an opportunity is only the beginning. Companies also need to understand local market conditions, identify where their products or services fit, and build relationships with partners who can help them establish a presence. The seminar focused on these practical considerations through presentations, a signing ceremony and an interactive business forum.

The programme opened with welcoming remarks from APC’s Chongqing representative, followed by an opening address from H.E. Dr. HENG VUTHY, President of the Cambodia National Federation of Trade and Investment Promotion Association.

APC President Dato’ Prof. Dr. Albert Tan then delivered a presentation titled “Expanding into ASEAN Markets and Finding New Growth Opportunities.” He explored how companies can assess their strengths and identify suitable directions for overseas growth. Entering a new market requires more than bringing an existing business model across borders: companies must consider who their customers are, what needs they can meet, and how they will develop local partnerships and sales channels.

Darren Theng, Vice President of the Cambodia National Federation of Trade and Investment Promotion Association, presented “Cambodia’s Golden Ten Year.” His session offered entrepreneurs a closer look at Cambodia’s development prospects and encouraged them to consider where their businesses might find opportunities to collaborate in the market.

The seminar also featured a signing ceremony and a business forum with a question-and-answer session. These discussions gave participants an opportunity to raise questions about overseas expansion and exchange views on potential areas of cooperation. The programme included an introduction to the Cambodia International Business and Information National Forum for businesses interested in continuing the conversation.

For APC, helping a company expand overseas means connecting market knowledge with the relationships needed to move forward. Through its international business network, APC works to connect companies with overseas organisations, business contacts and potential partners. From exploring a market and identifying relevant contacts to discussing possible forms of cooperation, APC aims to help entrepreneurs turn their plans for international expansion into practical next steps.

The Chongqing seminar created an opportunity for Chinese and Cambodian business representatives to meet and exchange ideas. APC will continue to strengthen connections among companies in China, Cambodia and the wider ASEAN region, with a focus on practical cooperation that supports businesses seeking to establish themselves in overseas markets.
